Realtor branding again

Realtors have known for about 20 years at least that branding was important but Seth Godin talks about it with” I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV”.
We always see branding as improtant but when you walk intop a supermarket what thought do you have when you see Emeril’s face on the salad dressing? What thought do your customers have when they see you?
As you go about building your image it is your picture above your listings that people see most. What you need to do is ahve an association with that picture and hope that the association is positive. Going back to Emeril’s salad dressing, when I see it in a store the first things that I think about is the great food that he makes and the laugh that he has when he is joking around and making the food. You as a Realtor do not have TV time to build an image so online you need to do this instead.
A blog or a website or even press releases that make it to the newspaper all help a Realtor to brand and image with consumers. Doing this is just a matter of following a system of keeping the public up to date with what is happening with the local real estate market.
Just imagine the opportunities you would have if a local newspaper came to you every month to ask about market conditions. I know in my area of the country there are random Realtors intrerviewed so apparently the press has no idea who to talk to but I know that other places have a “Realtor” that the press talks to month in and month out and that Realtor is one of the few in that city to have a real image to the public.
